30% de merlot, 36% de cabernet franc et 34% de cabernet sauvignon
13 September to 7 October
2019 started with alternating spring and winter conditions. An exceptionally cold spell in early May, with late frost, meant all hands on board; fortunately the vines suffered no damage. Dry and sunny weather set in from mid-June, enabling the vines to catch up the growth cycle in short order. The grapes matured slowly over the summer, favouring concentration of aromas and flavours. Freshness was preserved by moderate use of leaf-thinning, limiting the grapes’ exposure to the sun.
Picking started early at Figeac. The crop, though small, delighted us with its quality.
